Johnson Portables Responds to Joplin Devastation

Johnson Portables has responded to the devastation of the recent tornado outbreak in Joplin, Missouri by providing the Sisters of Mercy Health System with a portable medical facility. The contract was recently signed following the violent storms which damaged commercial and residential areas.

“The 29,000 square-foot hospital will be used for nine to twelve months while a prefabricated component hospital is erected on site to replace the St. Johns Hospital that was destroyed May 22nd,” stated Brian Johnson, President of Johnson Portables.

The portable health facility will be assembled and functioning within six weeks, offering ICU, surgical, X- Ray, front office, pharmacy, patient room, cath lab, dialysis, MRI, and CT facilities.

Additionally, Johnson Portables is under contract with The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. The project includes a large sterilization facility and new equipment from vendor partners. This will be the third project Johnson Portables has completed with the university since Hurricane Ike.
